Ifunanya Amadike

Ifunanya Amadike was 17 and had just finished secondary school when he was beaten to death by the Nigerian police in Warri, Delta State. 

According to his brother, on June 21st, a group of police officers stopped by the family home and picked up Ifunanya and some friends who were with him at that time. These men were severely tortured and Ifunanya died in their custody. The reason for these arrests is still unknown by the family and community till date. 

After his death, the police dumped his body at the Warri General Hospital’s mortuary. Ifunanya Amadike was killed in 2018, and to this day, his family has been denied access to his body.
