Saddam Adam embarked on a trip to Jos, the Plateau state capital, to deliver some goods. He was a truck driver at BHN Logistics, a haulage and transport logistics service based in Portharcourt, Rivers State.

As he approached Kuru junction, he was flagged down by a team of policemen at a checkpoint. A mild argument ensued and the police shot him, leaving him in a pool of blood inside his truck.

The incident became public knowledge after an eyewitness [@Hie_zinberg] posted it on Twitter.

The tweet read: “This is Saddam Adam, a truck driver for BHN Logistics, Port Harcourt. He was shot dead, unprovoked, by a policeman of the @PoliceNg yesterday at Kuru Checkpoint in Jos, Plateau state according to several eyewitnesses. We demand justice for Saddam. @AmnestyNigeria @NhrcNigeria.”

On March 27, 2021, the Nigeria Police revealed that an investigation had commenced into the matter, but months after, there have been no reports on the investigation.

The names of the killer policemen are still unknown, neither have any arrests been made in connection to the incident.
